About the 60km Walk
Take a walk with us. We’re going to travel 60 kilometers, by foot, through the beauty of The Netherlands landscape. We’re going to do something more, something bigger, in the battle with breast cancer.
Individuals will trek the incredible walking trails of Holland as they are introduced to new perspectives and new friends. The experience eventually leads into a closing ceremony designed for heroes where cheering family, friends and admirers will gather at the historic Olympic Stadium to welcome the walkers and crew members who supported them.
A Sister’s Hope 60K is a two-day walk being held Oct. 9 & 10, 2010. The route is designed for all walkers, including the Nordic Walker community.
This is a major fundraising event that pushes participants in two ways: 1) to do the training necessary to walk 60 km, and 2) to collect donations in an amount that will have a significant impact on the breast cancer community. Each walker must raise a minimum of 1,500 euros. This is mandatory. Those who do not raise the 1,500 euros are not allowed to walk.
It sounds like a lot because it is a lot. Fighting this disease demands it.
